about the artists' guild

Started in 1957 by a group of local artists, the Artists' Guild of Spartanburg is a local success story. Through the years the Guild grew from a handful of artists to eventually join in what was then known as the Arts Council in the 1980s to one of the original partners of the Chapman Cultural Center, located in downtown Spartanburg. Our gallery is currently housed in the Chapman Cultural Center and features 12 different shows throughout the year, which highlight the talents of local artists of all ages and backgrounds.
In following our mission to cultivate, nurture and grow the visual arts in our community by supporting local artists and education; we host an annual juried show for students in March, and facilitate smaller shows at venues throughout the county for local artists. We also support local artists by providing thousands of dollars in prize money each year to the winning submissions in our adult and youth juried shows.
Please help us continue to support the arts in our community by donating today. Thank you!

SHOWCASING THE ARTISTS' GUILD OF SPARTANBURG by SANTIAGO MARIANI
A wise man once said, "humanity in every age, and even today, looks to WORKS OF ART TO SHED LIGHT upon its path and destiny."
The arts keep us in touch with the DEEPER TRUTHS of our human existence, apart from which we become impoverished.
In truth, we are MADE FOR BEAUTY! And artists remind us of the SPLENDOR that constantly surrounds us.
That's why we, in Spartanburg, NEED THE ARTS! And hence, it's with a SPECIAL JOY that I present to you today the Artists' Guild of Spartanburg! VIDEO LINK >
Many thanks to Zachary Gudakov for his amazing videography.
