Artists' Guild Spartanburg Prospectus 2021 





  • Artists must identify entries as either 2-D or 3-D.

  • Artists must submit only one image for 2-D entries but may submit two for 3-D entries.

  • Artists must designate the medium/media of each piece.

  • Images must be jpg format, no larger than 32mbs, with a minimum 350 dpi resolution.

  • Art must fit size limitations: nothing over 60 pounds; Sculpture weight does not include stand.

  • All works to be hung MUST be securely wired or sawtooth hangers(no plastic frames, wired according to size and weight, no string or fishing line, acrylic should be free of scratches if using instead of glass.) Stretched canvas without a frame should be a gallery wrapped canvas 1.5 inches in depth or deeper with professional, clean edges. Any canvas less that 1.5 inches should be framed. No stapled edges showing on sides.

**A Gallery Committee will be on hand to accept pieces during drop off dates. Any work not meeting the requirements will be returned until requirements are met**

  • 3-D pieces must rest solidly on a flat surface or be wired and ready to hang.

  • If subject to damage, works must be framed under Plexiglass or glass.

  • Up to two (2) pieces of original art may be entered. The juror may choose up to 50 pieces.

  • All art must be for sale. A 30% commission will be charged, with the artist retaining 70% from a sale.

  • The absolute deadline for entries is 5pm on March 19th, 2021.

  • Only digital entries will be considered.


Entries will be submitted to between February 19th until 5pm on March 19th, 2021.

  • Only JURIED MEMBERS of the Artists' Guild are eligible to apply.

  • Accepted entries will be posted at by midnight March 21st, 2021.

  • Juried artwork must be delivered to the Guild Gallery (200 East Saint John St.) on one of the following dates: March 27 from 2 pm to 3pm or from 5pm to 5:30pm, March 29. Absolutely no work will be accepted without a guild representative present.

  • NO artwork will be accepted after the deadline.

  • Artists whose work is juried into the exhibition will be required to sign an exhibition agreement when delivering their piece(s).

  • All juried artwork must remain in place during the entire exhibition (NO EXCEPTIONS); artwork may be picked up at the Guild Gallery only between 4-5:30 pm Thursday, April 29th or between 1-2pm on May 1st. Work not picked up by May 5th becomes the property of the Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg, unless other arrangements have been made.



  • The Artists’ Guild will use the utmost care and respect in handling the artwork; however, it is the artist’s responsibility to insure the art during the show as well as while it is being transported to and from the exhibition.

  • The Artists’ Guild does not assume liability for damages resulting from broken glass or improperly prepared work, or loss or damages incurred up to the point of acceptance or after pick-up.

  • For publicity purposes, the Artists’ Guild reserves the right to photograph and reproduce any entry.

  • Receipt of an entry into the juried exhibition constitutes an agreement by the artist with all conditions set forth in this prospectus.

  • Sponsors and affiliates are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by any equipment or programming associated or used in the juried exhibition or by any human or technical error which may occur in the processing of submissions in the juried exhibition, including, but not limited to, misprints or typographical errors.

The Artists’ Guild receives support from The Chapman Cultural Center and its donors, the County and City of Spartanburg, and the SC Arts Commission, which receives funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Guild is a non-profit organization located at the Chapman Cultural Center in downtown Spartanburg. Its mission is to cultivate, nurture, and grow the visual arts in the community by supporting local artists.
